Moreover, from the 14th to the 16th of October 2011, the traditional Grape Festival of Merano takes place in the city centre of Merano which is accompanied by a huge supporting programme from culinary highlights to folkloric music.

Very nice show with a lot of variety and well presented. It was a great job of community building which the local arts scene could use more of. Congrats to all involved. Great to see what local people can do.

Possible impluse for the feast of Christmas may have came too from the establishment of the pagan feast of the "Unconquered Sun-God" by the Emperor Aurelian in 274 A.D. to be celebrated on December 25, the day of the winter solstice in Rome and throughout the empire.
