Merano end its environs is an area which also during winter times offers a lot. As example, for outdoor fans we recommend the possibility to skiing at night at the ski resort Merano 2000. Here, every Friday up to the 26th of February 2010, from 7.30 p.m. to 10.30 p.m. you can ski and sledge. If also you are one of those people who prefer to spend your holiday with activities and adventures, so you are just right in Merano 2000. By the way: the Schenna Hotel Resort will be open again in March.

Cross country skiing in Merano and its environs

Merano is famous for its mediterran climate but also in winter month it offers a lot of possibilities for winter sport. Here it does not exist a cross country stadium but a lot of little sport areas with several slopes. Here you can enjoy the sport, because it does not exist turbulences on the tracks.
For example the ski resort of Merano 2000 offers, just above the village of Avelengo, a cross country trail of about 5 km. Due to its low difficulty, this slope is perfect for beginners and children. Another trail of 7 km is situated in the area of Verano, a spectacular high plateau.

Merano and its environs invite you for skiing

Yes, it is true, Merano and its environs is not a markedly winter area, but, the five ski areas around the city of Merano are not to despise. Val Senales, Plan, Monte S. Vigilio, Schwemmalm and Merano 2000, the last one reachable only in a few minutes by car from the Schenna Hotel Resort, offers good snow conditions and slopes for beginners, for families and for experts, too. During the months of January and February in Merano 2000 it is also possible to ski by night, every Friday evening. And, to remember, the skiing area of Merano 2000 will be open up to the 05th of April 2010. So, we wish you a lot of fun during your winter ski holiday in Merano and its environs.
